Book Booty!
Tonight's bounty:
The Magus, John Fowler
Part II of the Mary and JR book club. Weights in at a stunning 3 lbs and 600 pages. One of the "Modern Library 100" (of which I have read more or less 16). The beginning reads a bit like that movie Closer that just came out, and I'm told it involves a mystery. Looking forward to a nice, long read.
If The Buddha Dated, by Charlotte Kasl
Recommended by a co-worker who just got married and received If The Buddha Married (there's a whole series!) as a gift. A classy little book about the zen of dating and relationships, and so much healthier than The Rules. Worth the somewhat humiliating trip down the self-help section (which Kasl points out, like dating, we shouldn't take too seriously).
Milton's Teeth and Ovid's Umbrella: Curiouser and Curiouser Adventures in History, Michael Olmert
Oh, Professor Olmert, I love you. What are you doing in the Bargain section?
