Draino doesn't work. The plumbing just laughs in Draino's face. Otoh, the long grabby thing handles most drainage situations. Try the long grabby thing. Good luck.
I have dealt with serious cloggage before, but never "spitting" (whereby the tub fills of its own accord and seems to have had an unfortunate run-in with the garbage disposal). In fact, my upstairs neighbor just had a nice, long, hot shower and I was scooping buckets of water from my tub. I know this probably falls under the category of "TMI" (too much information) but there you go--welome to this month's reason why I'm moving.
...and, while I would have liked to play handywoman with the snakey thing, I have passed this situation (mind-of-it's-own-tub-ala-ghostbusters) on to my landlord, because I do not deal with rivers of slime. Thanks for the advice!
Ah, well, in that case, then please allow me amend my previous comment. What I meant to say was, that if you should ever find yourself in a plumbing maintenance situation where you think draino might be the solution, you might consider giving the long grabby thing a try instead. For reporting a major plumbing problem to the landlord, I'm thinking maybe telephone. bwdik :-)
