Every Monday should start like this...
I was well-rested and full of grande vanilla latte when I reached my classroom door at 7:30. Well-rested because I hit the snooze button three times. Well-rested because I woke up in a shiny, clean apartment next to a warm fuzzy body (who awoke sleepily and stumbled to the kitchen as I poured her some breakfast. Ah yes, cat food, did I mention that we have cat food again?)
I was fumbling for my keys when I saw Y----- and F----- waiting outside my door: two students I recruited to help on a one-time before-school project, who have been coming early ever since.
"Miss--you're late!"
"I'm not late, I'm early. What are you doing here?"
"We picked up your copies for you."
Sure enough, each student held a five inch tall stack of papers, hot off the presses from the copy room. I informed them that they were my favorite people today, and set them to work stapling said copies.
I felt like a rock star teacher. Ms. D------ has a posse.
