Dear KTRU DJs,

Hey guys!

Y'all are doing a great job. Thanks for playing music I enjoy and introducing me to new bands. Your radio station is one of my favorites.

It hasn't always been this way.

When I first moved here, someone told me to check out KTRU--so I did--and you kept playing this spacey squawky really inaccessible stuff. I was like, bleh. But something changed! Maybe new leadership, maybe new DJs, whatever... we like it.

I even enjoy your often humorous inclusion of public services messages. Maybe you could include my organization, too? The kids might want to know when application deadlines are, and we certainly want them to apply.

Here's one thing that keeps bugging me, friends: it's Neuhaus pronounced NIGH-house, meaning "near," not the horsey noise. As in taps, "...all is well, safely rest. God is nigh." It's not pronounced "Newhouse." Seriously, I've heard three of you say it. I know many of you have this cute, "I don't live in HOUSTON; I go to RICE" visitor thing going on, but this family is kind of a big deal. There's a street named after them and everything, like the Kirbys and the Allens.

You can go visit them at the Glenwood Cementary, along with some of my relatives, apparantly.

That's the only complaint I can come up with, so keep up the good work.

Yours,
Mary
